Auckland Pride is looking for a new Pride Parade Producer for the 2016 event. Melbourne-based event director Richard Taki has held the role for the past two years, but will not apply for 2016. Pride has now opened the application process, and is looking for someone who can “throw a good party, on the road, with drag queens - and not upset the neighbours”. They need to be an experienced event producer who can work with a team of volunteers to manage logistics, content and creative development to deliver the parade to the standard required, on time and within budget. Specifically, Pride is looking for someone with a proven track record, “thick skin”, self-motivation, the ability to lead and drive a team, time management and organisational skills, strong community networks and precise attention to detail. The new Pride Parade Producer would also need “a heart for the community”, the people skills to required to work with the community, corporates and the public sector, and a cool head under pressure, especially in a crisis – plus a curator's eye and the skill to coax the creativity out of the parade entrants. Next year's Auckland Pride Parade will be held on 20 February. Anyone who wishes to apply to be the new Parade Producer can email info@aucklandpridefestival.org.nzfor more information. The deadline for applications is 5pm, 11 September.
