Half of the young Brits who have taken part in a new national survey say they are not 100 per cent heterosexual. The YouGov online poll of 1,632 British adults asked people to plot themselves on a sexuality scale, and 49 per cent of those aged 18-24 chose something other than “100 per cent heterosexual”. In all, 23 per cent of everyone surveyed said they were not “100 per cent heterosexual”. Four per cent of people said they were completely gay, while 19 per cent identified as somewhere in between. In its analysis, the research company says with each generation, people see their sexuality as less fixed in stone. Within the 18-24 age group, 46 per cent say they are completely heterosexual and six per cent say they are completely gay. YouGov says people of all generations now also accept the idea that sexual orientation exists along a continuum, rather than being a binary choice.
