Wall and Whaitiri lead NZ to Diggeress Cup

Fri 14 Aug 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Rainbow Labour MPs Louisa Wall and Meka Whaitiri have led New Zealand's Parliamentary Netball Team to victory against Australia's Federal Parliament in Sydney. Picture: Nanaia Mahuta / Facebook Wall, a former Silver Fern, co-captained the side. Whaitiri also has strong netball pedigree, having played at national level. They were backed by teammates Louise Upston, Amy Adams, Nanaia Mahuta, Joanne Hayes, Poto Williams and Sue Moroney. The side also beat a New South Wales Parliamentary team, and will now bring home the inaugural Diggeress Cup. The players are now hoping the Silver Ferns can also claim the silverware should they make the Netball World Cup final on Sunday.
