Fri 24 Jul 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Aussie indie rocker Courtney Barnett will be back in New Zealand in November for shows in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Pic: @UNDERGROUND_FALAFEL ON INSTAGRAM She'll play Bodega in Wellington on Thursday 5 November, the St James in Auckland on Friday 6 November and the Foundry in Christchurch on Saturday 7 November. It's been a big year for the Melbourne-based singer-songwriter since she played the Laneway Festival in Auckland in January. She has released her critically acclaimed studio album debut Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit, which hit #4 on the Australian charts and reached the top 20 in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the US. Rolling Stone put her single Pedestrian at Best at the top of their 25 Best Songs of 2015 So Far. Before heading to New Zealand she will play festivals across the US and Europe, as well as opening for Blur at the Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden in late October. Barnett's partner is Jen Cloher, a singer-songwriter, and they live together in Melbourne. They have worked together a fair bit too, and the adorable track Numbers is about their relationship and the age difference.
