UPDATED: Robbie Manson and his new double sculls partner Chris Harris have made a good start to their international season. The duo recorded the fastest time of all the heats, with 06:12.540, at the world cup in Lucerne. They then finished in second place in the semi-final, to book a place in the A final. Manson and new double sculls partner Chris Harris The Lucerne event is their sole international regatta ahead of next month's world championships in France, as they have just come back from some niggling injuries. Before the event, Manson told Radio Sport he and his crewmate are tracking well. "We've got a really good rhythm together.. every day we got out rowing its just really enjoyable. We naturally row really well together and its just an enjoyable combination to be a part of." Manson was one of New Zealand's most high-profile male athletes to come out publicly, when he spoke out about his sexuality late last year. The Olympian told GayNZ.com he has always looked up to gay role models and wanted to come out in the hope it would make others' paths easier too.
