Skjellerup ties the knot in Hawaiian wedding

Mon 6 Jul 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News

Former New Zealand Olympian Blake Skjellerup has married partner Saul Carrasco on a beach in Hawaii. The couple, who met through Instagram, got engaged last August. Carrasco is a stylist who runs the fashion and travel blog Trend Styled and he and Skjellerup live together in New York. The couple after arriving in Hawaii. Picture: Instagram. The pair told Queerty the ceremony would be about who they are. “Our best friends respectively are our “best people” and also our celebrants. We did not want to be married by a stranger and we choose people who know us, love us, and have been our biggest supporters, to deliver our nuptials.” They wore casual linen suits with some Hawaiian inspired floral ties for the nuptials, and are staying in Hawaii with friends and family for a post-wedding holiday. Before the wedding, the couple also spoke to Queerty about how monogamy is important in their relationship, and shared that they both want children. “Starting a family and having children is important to us, and we cannot wait to send off our little Carrasco-Skjellerup to the first day of school.”
