Colin Craig’s former press secretary has broken her silence for the first time, saying there are clear factual inaccuracies in his version of events. Rachel MacGregor resigned just two days out from the election last year, and has remained silent on why. Yesterday the former Conservative Party leader denied allegations he sexually harassed her, but said one some occasions “their” behaviour "was inappropriate". Read: Craig admits inappropriate behaviour MacGregor then posted on Twitter: "Colin Craig is trying to frame me as a mistress. There was never a sexual relationship.” She also issued a statement saying his statement breaches a confidentially agreement they reached during Human Rights Commission mediation. “Despite Mr Craig’s public comments I have been advised by my lawyers that I am still bound by the confidentiality agreement,” her statement says. “I am therefore unable to correct the clear factual inaccuracies contained in the statement Mr Craig made … without jeopardising my legal position. I am willing to correct those inaccuracies if Mr Craig confirms that he will not take legal action under the confidentiality agreement when I do so. “I am also willing to fully brief the Conservative Party Board on Mr Craig’s conduct but, again, this would require Mr Craig’s consent.” She says until Craig lifts confidentiality, she can make no further comments. Craig has modelled himself as a clean-cut family man, opposing marriage equality in favour of upholding ‘traditional’ man and wife relationships. He has said a number of times being gay is not normal, and that he could even choose to be gay if he wished. Despite sinking millions into the Conservative Party, it came up short at the last election. Colin Craig responded on Morning Report today, saying his lawyer is in talks with McGregor's lawyer about lifting the confidentiality agreement. Craig is currently facing having his membership to the party he started cancelled.
