K' Rd fave Alleluya cafe says it's not going anywhere The new owner of K’ Rd’s St Kevin’s Arcade is promising to restore the much-loved space, while "maintaining its relevance within K Rd's cultural landscape." Former Shortland St actor and musician Paul Reid is now the owner of Auckland property management company IconiCity, which has bought the 91-year-old building. It includes gay favourite hang-out Alleluya café and a number of small retailers and bars. Alleluya has reassured its faithful customers with the message “don't worry we're not going anywhere,” saying it simply has a new landlord. In the face of social media speculation about the arcade’s future, Reid has told the New Zealand Herald the building will be restored. "Like many Aucklanders who have formed a relationship with St Kevin's Arcade, I'm passionate about this building," he says. "My vision for St Kevin's Arcade is to celebrate its beauty and curate an environment where Auckland's creative talent can thrive.” He says he will meet with current tenants to discuss any changes to the space.
