Watch: about the Day of Silence

Wed 3 Jun 2015 In: Our Communities View at NDHA

In this video young people discuss the reasons for the Day of Silence, which is coming to New Zealand on 12 June. Students around the country will maintain silence to raise awareness of homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying, name-calling and harassment in schools. The first New Zealand Day of Silence was held in 2007 at Nayland College in Nelson. Queer straight alliance network InsideOUT, with the support of numerous other groups, has since created a national campaign. You can sign up to take part here GayNZ.com staff - 3rd June 2015
