HIV case accused will plead not guilty

Thu 30 Apr 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News

The Auckland man charged with infecting another man with HIV will plead not guilty to both related charges and intends to request trial by jury, according to his lawyer. Name, address and occupation suppression of both the 48-year-old defendant and the complainant will continue. The accused remains remanded on bail. In a brief hearing at the Auckland District Court this morning Judge Heemi Taumaunu did not disclose in court the detailed reasoning behind the continued suppression decision which was made by Judge David Sharp following the defendant's last appearance.
