Matt Fistonich will represent New Zealand Public voting is open for the upcoming Mr Gay World competition, as New Zealand's entrant prepares to take on the world. New Zealand will be represented in South Africa by former Defence Force firefighter Matt Fistonich He hopes to win the title that New Zealand has claimed twice, in 2012 and 2013. "I'm looking forward to getting to South Africa and showing off New Zealand to an international audience," Fistonich says. "It is not a beauty contest, there is no age limit and the primary purpose of Mr Gay World is to make a positive impact on the gay community in their own country." Since he won the title in a judge-only vote in a trimmed down version of Mr Gay New Zealand, Fistonich says he has been reaching out to community organisations. "I have being doing some work and speaking with the New Zealand Aids Foundation, Rainbow Youth and OUTLine about ways I can get more involved in their programmes once I'm back from South Africa." Mr Gay World public voting is open here. People can vote once per day. The Mr Gay World competition begins on Sunday 26 April and the winner will be announced on 3 May.
