Sydney: man jailed over Grindr robberies

Corey Draper A man’s been jailed for at least 17 months for holding men he met on Grindr up at knifepoint, and robbing them, in Sydney. The Sydney Morning Herald reports Corey Draper, 23, used the gay hook-up app to locate potential victims, suggesting they meet up to use meth. One of his victims says he threatened to kill him. Draper was arrested in February 2014 and charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence. He pleaded guilty and has now been jailed for a maximum of 33 months, with a non-parole period of 17 months.
