Pride Board wants to be judged on results

Thu 5 Feb 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

File Photo The Auckland Pride Board says it wants the results from this year’s event to speak for themselves, and doesn’t wish to respond to criticism levelled against it by a former member. Auckland Pride Festival officially begins tomorrow morning with a dawn ceremony at Ohaku Bay. There is a busy weekend ahead, with the Pride Gala on Saturday night and the Big Gay Out on Sunday. In December Lexie Matheson announced she had quit the Pride board, claiming it was 'dysfunctional' and expressing a number of other concerns. The Pride Board was invited to respond, but says it has decided not to specifically answer any outstanding questions about Matheson’s comments, as it would prefer the results of the Festival to speak for themselves.
