The Auckland War Memorial Museum will once again be lit up in rainbow colours this Saturday night to mark the start of Auckland Pride Festival. It will remain lit up for the rest of the weekend. Auckland Pride Festival begins tomorrow with the Mika Haka Foundation’s spiritual Māori Dawn Ceremony at Okahu Bay. Guests are asked to arrive from 6.15am, with the ceremony to begin at 6.42am. On Saturday night Pride will have its red carpet event, the Pride Gala, which features many of the performers who will be in individual shows during the Festival. Some of the visual arts exhibitions are already open, with more starting over the weekend. On Sunday the Big Gay Out returns to Coyle Park, from midday to 7PM. The 3rd annual Auckland Pride Festival runs through until 1 March. Full event information here
