A little can do a lot for RainbowYOUTH

Tue 3 Feb 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

RainbowYOUTH is looking for 1,000 supporters to download an app and help them raise some cash – without paying a cent. It’s the first lgbtiq organisation to feature on Little Lot. The app works through advertising, by charging brands to appear on the wallpaper of your smart phone, computer or tablet. It then donates 75 per cent of that fee to the charity of your choice. RainbowYOUTH is looking for 1,000 backers to download the app to generate the money that will go towards kicking off its education sessions in high schools in 2015, keeping its K'Rd drop-in centre up and running and innovating new ways to meet the needs of lgbtiq young people. "RainbowYOUTH is so excited to be able to work with Little Lot to give our supporters a way to donate without it costing them anything,” says the group’s Communications Manager Toni Duder. “We've got some exciting stuff planned for 2015, and while we are always trying to move forwards, we continue to rely on the generosity of our community to help get us to where we need to go. "I've never come across something like Little Lot before - it's kiwi ingenuity at its finest in the digital age - and RainbowYOUTH comes from that same type of place. We've used more than our fair share of kiwi ingenuity to get us where we are today.” You can download the app and sign up to support Rainbow Youth here
