A well-known Auckland DJ was robbed by a man wielding a crowbar on K’ Rd in the early hours of this morning. Family Downunder resident DJ Wanda was walking home after her gig, around 4.20AM, and was near the Mobil station at the intersection with Ponsonby Rd when the man came at her. “Suddenly a guy confronted me telling me to hand over my cash. I said I didn’t have any, then suddenly he was swinging a crowbar at me,” Wanda tells GayNZ.com Daily News. “He demanded my bag I told him it was just CDs then he came at me again, so I handed over one DJ bag and he leapt into a car and sped off.” Wanda says she wasn’t scared, but could see the man was desperate and ready to hurt her. The longtime Auckland DJ says she will taxi home from work from now on and is advising others to be careful on K’ Rd. She will make a police report.
