Threats against Gillman-Harris judge

Sun 11 Jan 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Ihaia Gillman-Harris Police are reportedly investigating threats made against a High Court judge who refused bail to one of the two men charged with murdering Ihaia Gillman-Harris. A rapper connected to one of the accused, Beauen Wallace-Lorenz, has posted on social media "Shot the judge in the head if you about that lif [sic]" on Facebook, to which a cousin of Wallace-Lorenz responded the judge "had a pretty fat head and wouldn't be a hard target." When contacted by the Herald On Sunday, rapper Alex Martinovich, 18, told a reporter "I'll fucking smash the judge because I hate the Government so much... why are they doing [Wallace-Lorenz] for murder?" Wallace-Lorenz and Leonard Nattrass-Berquist are on remand in Mt Eden jail, each facing one charge of murder. They are also accused of stealing cash, a cellphone, a bank card and Gillman-Harris's Range Rover. The reasons they were denied bail are suppressed.
