Australian model Ruby Rose is to guest star on the third season of Orange is the New Black. The out and gender fluid Aussie will play an inmate called Stella Carlin, “whose sarcastic sense of humour and captivating looks quickly draw the attention of some of Litchfield’s inmates,” the show’s creator Netflix has told Buzzfeed. The website is speculating she will be a “lust object” for Piper and Alex. Rose is a model and TV host whose big break came when she won a competition to be an MTV VJ in Australia. She’s since hosted a number of TV shows, appeared in a couple of films, designed a fashion line and even won a charity boxing bout. She’s been out as a lesbian since she was 12, and her success comes after she overcame intense bullying as a teenager. Last year she came out as genderfluid, saying, "I am very gender fluid and feel more like I wake up every day sort of gender neutral." Rose is engaged to Phoebe Dahl, the granddaughter of author Roald Dahl and cousin of model Sophie. The third season of Orange is the New Black is expected to be released in mid-2015.
