A survey of more than 750 gay, lesbian and bisexual people in Bangladesh has found many are living in fear. The research was carried out by a support group and gay magazine in the predominantly Muslim nation, which still criminalizes homosexuality. More than 50 per cent say they live in constant fear of their sexual orientation being discovered. “The aim of our survey is to understand what problems our community is facing, what their demands are and how they can be addressed,” survey spokesman Shakhawat Imam Rajeeb told the Dhaka Tribune.
