Scruff helping raise syphilis awareness

Tue 9 Dec 2014 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Gay dating and social network app Scruff is supporting the New Zealand AIDS Foundation with ads designed to raise awareness about the rise in syphilis cases in Auckland and Hamilton. It’s the first time New Zealand has been included in its Benevolads programme, which already provides free ad space for non-profit community organisations in the US and UK. "Benevolads has given us the opportunity to directly reach gay and bisexual men to increase awareness of the rise in syphilis cases, and talk to people about getting tested,” says New Zealand AIDS Foundation Executive Director Shaun Robinson. “This opportunity opens an untapped channel, allowing us to talk to a wider audience about sexual health.”
