Robertson rules out future leadership bids

Tue 18 Nov 2014 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

A disappointed Grant Robertson says he will not run for the Labour leadership again. The openly-gay MP has narrowly lost the race to former union boss Andrew Little, who made it over the line with strong union support. Robertson has quickly congratulated Little. After missing out on the Labour leadership for the second time, Robertson has declared he will not run again. “This was obviously a close result. There’s no hiding the fact that I am disappointed by it. But this is the system that the Labour Party has.” Robertson says he will not run for the party leadership again, ever.
