New Zealand business owners and employers have ranked sexuality among the least important diversity issues in their workplaces. A report from AUT University's New Zealand Work Research Institute, for the Equal Employment Opportunity Trust and Chamber of Commerce Northern, is based on data collected between November 2013 and August 2014. The issues most commonly perceived as important to organisations were wellbeing, the ageing workforce and flexibility. Sexuality was consistently ranked tenth, with only religion deemed less important. Large organisations were more likely to see sexuality as important. The report will be used to help the EEO Trust develop its diversity initiatives.
