Advice, information, friends, movies, games and pizza are on the menu RainbowYOUTH is holding the first of its free pop-up centre events at the Auckland Pioneer Women’s Hall tonight, complete with pizza, movies and games. It’s a chance for queer and trans young people to hang out, make friends and get any information and advice they might need. The venue has been made available as part of a Waitematā Local Board initiative to ‘reactivate’ it as a hub for central city residents. "There has been a huge amount of support from the central Auckland community and Waitematā Local Board to trial this new concept of a pop up drop-in centre at the Pioneer Woman's Hall,” says RainbowYOUTH General Manager Duncan Matthews. “The pilot runs for 13 weeks, giving young people who want to go out on a Friday night another safe and welcoming place to go in downtown CBD. The awesome hosts, Ed and Morgan, have a bunch of different things for visitors lined up, and I hear pizza features quite prominently.” The RainbowYOUTH Pop-Up centre is a smoking, drug and alcohol free safe space on Friday nights from 6PM - 12AM. The Pioneer Woman's Hall is at 2 Freyberg Place, Auckland Central.
