ChCh couple wins close MKR cook-off

Thu 16 Oct 2014 In: New Zealand Daily News

Christchurch couple Ricki-Mae Paisley and Jessie Smulders have held their place on My Kitchen Rules in a close sudden death cook-off, which they won by just one point. They just beat Wellington couple Steve and Maura, in a nerve racking episode. The pair’s three course menu was simple and rustic, with their ravioli entrée impressing the judges, while their chicken main was not as popular, but they finished strongly with a mint and chocolate dessert. They ended up with 44 points, just beating the Wellingtonians who scored 43. The win came as a shock to the women, billed the ‘Christchurch cuties’, who have proved to be solid cooks but have been lacking in confidence throughout the competition. My Kitchen Rules NZ continues on Sunday night with a pizza challenge.
