RainbowYOUTH's K' Rd drop-in centre ASB credit card users can now donate their rewards dollars to RainbowYOUTH. The Auckland-based lgbti youth support organisation will be listed alongside charities like St John, CanTeen and the SPCA, as options for people to donate True Rewards dollars to. The move comes on the back of ASB being the first bank to be awarded the Rainbow Tick, the creation of an lgbti staff network and its financial support for the New Zealand Falcons, a gay and inclusive rugby team. RainbowYOUTH’s General Manager Duncan Matthews says ASB is showing a commitment to support queer and trans communities, which he is thrilled by. He says the money donated by customers will be a great help – and will go towards keeping the group’s dropin centre up and running, supplying its resources to other community organisations and ensuring the continued running of its core services. Matthews says it’s just the first step in an exciting ongoing relationship between RainbowYOUTH and ASB, with further collaboration planned for early next year. “ASB has really come onboard, wanting to support us and our initiatives. They’ve already offered resource, guidance and opportunities to work together for the benefit of RainbowYOUTH, ASB’s Unity Network, and wider community members.”
