File Photo A London university rugby team has apologised for a leaflet it circulated saying it’s banned “outright homosexual debauchery”. The London School of Economics pamphlets, handed out at an orientation event, say the players will not tolerate “activities that involve feces, genitalia and outright homosexual debauchery”. The team also describes “hockey, netball and rugby birds” as “beast-like women that play sport just so they can come out with us on Wednesdays, and don't let them tell you otherwise”. Students have spoken out against the leaflets and the university’s student union has received a number of complaints. It’s confiscated any it’s found and is investigating. “We are committed to our equal opportunities policy and safeguarding our members. However, further comment won’t be provided until the investigation has been completed in order to keep our processes as robust as possible,” it says. The rugby club has apologised through a student newspaper. “LSE Men’s Rugby does not tolerate misogyny, racism, homophobia or prejudice of any description and the Club remains committed to the LSE’s equal opportunities policy. Clearly, on this occasion we not only failed ourselves, but the university which we are so proud to represent.”
