Picture / ABC 10 News A gay couple says a homophobic heckler took “a day of joy” away by shouting “go home faggots” and other abuse as they married in a California park. Oscar De Las Salas and Gary Jackson, from Arizona, tied the knot at Centennial Park in Coronodo, in a ceremony punctuated by shouting – apparently from the balcony of a nearby apartment. As they said they vows, cell video footage includes someone in the background shouting “homos”, “go home homos”, and “go home faggots”. De Las Salas has told ABC 10 News it was “a moment of fear” and was thinking, "God forbid this person has a gun and decides to open fire." He says “He took from me, my husband, and my guests a moment of joy, a simple moment of joy,” something which will be ingrained for the rest of their lives in their wedding day. “That person took a chunk of what should have been a beautiful day and turned it into something nasty and full of hate.”
