Gay man blinded in one eye by attack

Mon 15 Sep 2014 In: International News View at Wayback

Wales: A 20-year-old gay man has been left blinded in one eye after being called a ‘faggot’ and having petrol thrown in his face. Tyler Maddick, 20, had just moved home to Swansea after studying at the London College of Fashion. Wales Online says he was walking home from Swansea city centre last week when a car stopped alongside him and an occupant called him a 'faggot' before throwing petrol in his face. When he went to hospital the following day he was told he had total loss of vision in his left eye. “There was just something about that day. Me and my other friend – she's transgender – were out and somebody threw water at me and her on High Street before the petrol, at least two or three hours before,” he’s stated.
