Jevan Goulter (r) with Mana MP Hone Harawira Mana Party senior parliamentary staffer Jevan Goulter will not clarify the reasons behind his departure from the position, saying it is "none of GayNZ.com Daily News' readers' business." Goulter last week signaled that he will not be returning to Mana after the general election. "I have definitely enjoyed my time here with Mana," he posted. "The last three years working with Hone Harawira have been great, I have really enjoyed working with him as a leader and a member of parliament and giving me the opportunity to work here. I have admired his ability to stand alone the last three years and not waiver when it comes to fighting for those who have put him here." Pressed as to his reason for leaving his Mana role, Goulter says it is "to do something else." He says it is none of GayNZ.com readers' business and when it was suggested that he has created a public persona and his actions are therefore of gay community interest he countered that "It's other people who have put the spotlight on me." Goulter has been involved in a number of high-profile events associated with the gay communities and did a controversial in-depth tell-all interview for Investigate magazine before emerging as a Mana staffer. His last day at Parliament was last Wednesday. Nobody was available at Mana leader and MP Harawira's parliamentary office this morning to field enquiries.
