Reigning Mr Gay World, New Zealand's Chris Olwage, says he is a bit “sad and tender” but “hopeful and proud” as he prepares to make way for a new title-holder. “I might not have achieved all that I had set out to do, but my journey doesn't end with the title, and I will contribute to the future efforts of the next Mr Gay World to see the efforts in creating awareness and visibility for Human Rights and Gay Rights furthered abroad,” Olwage says. He has wished the contenders for the title luck ahead of the final of the pageant in Rome, tomorrow morning New Zealand time. The winners of the Mr Gay World title for the last two years have been Mr Gay New Zealand title holders. Andreas Derleth won in 2012 and Chris Olwage took the title last year. Medical student Troy Williams was representing New Zealand in Rome, but is not among the 23 delegates in the grand finale. Check out pictures from Mr Gay World in Rome here
