Pic via Bingham Cup The New Zealand Falcons have put up a mighty challenge against one of the Bingham Cup favourites in the final match of initial pool play. They’ve lost to the Brisbane Hustlers 24-14. Our sideline eye says the Falcons played a “massive game” but the “Brisbane wall was too tough to tear down.” The New Zealand side is made up of many players who are new to the game. With a win and two losses, the Falcons finish third in their pool behind the Hustlers and the San Francisco Fog. They narrowly lost to the Fog yesterday, with a last gasp penalty kick deciding the tough match. The Falcons now head into quarter-finals. Play the West Coast Phever at 3.50PM NZ time. If they win they go into contention for the Bingham Bowl, a loss puts them in the running for Bingham Shield.
