Picture / Twitter New Zealand athlete Blake Skjellerup has won gold in the men’s 18-34 age group road cycling race at the Gay Games in Cleveland. He says it’s an “amazing end to a great time in Cleveland”, where he also took part in the Opening Ceremony by lighting the flame. Skjellerup has represented New Zealand at the Winter Olympics in speed skating. He now lives in New York, from where he acts as an advocate against homophobia in sport. The sportsman has won gold just after announcing he is engaged to his stylist boyfriend, Saul Carrasco.
