A LYC ad. The safe-sex promoter says it will use feedback in the next phase of its campaign. Love Your Condom will use feedback from a recent meeting with gay and bi Asian men when it crafts future campaigns. The Auckland gathering was arranged to look at ways to reach Asian men who have sex with men, whose HIV diagnoses figures are prompting concern. Participants discussed how future campaigns by the New Zealand AIDS Foundation’s safe sex promotion wing Love Your Condom (LYC) could be more relevant to Asian New Zealanders, and how new migrants might be reached. The Foundation’s Executive Director Shaun Robinson says attendance was really good. “There was a strong turnout and there was a diversity of voices represented. We were pleased with everyone’s openness to participate.” He says a lot of useful information was shared. “Feedback will be taken into consideration for our next LYC phase.” A new group set up to advocate for lgbti Asian people in New Zealand, EquAsian, says it’s happy the NZAF is reaching out.
