Video: Woman throws paint at gay Auckland sauna

Thu 10 Jul 2014 In: Features

The paint was splattered at the entrance. A video has been released to GayNZ.com of an unknown woman splattering paint in the entrance of gay Auckland sauna Centurian. In the footage of the incident the woman is seen walking along the footpath on Beresford Square, before taking a can of paint out of her bag and splashing its contents in the sauna’s entry. She puts the tin back in her bag and walks off. Meanwhile the venue’s manager Gabriel Clifton is making gay news websites around the world with his quote: “I've dealt with enough of these morons in my life that I am not affected by it. But I am really annoyed that she used a boring off-white. I would have much preferred fluorescent green.” Clifton had received a call a few days before the paint attack from a woman who said she needed to speak to him urgently, “as she needed to pray for my soul”, who he assumes was the woman who threw the paint. Footage of the incident has already been passed on to police so they can investigate. GayNZ.com staff - 10th July 2014
