The paint left a mess at the sauna's entrance UPDATED with image and video. Paint has been thrown at the entrance of an Auckland gay sauna, by a woman caught on camera carrying out the act. Centurian Sauna manager Gabriel Clifton says a woman is clearly seen on film emptying a can of white paint in the Beresford Square doorway. “The footage shows that this was planned and that we were clearly the target.” Clifton had received a call a few days earlier from a woman who said she needed to speak to him urgently, “as she needed to pray for my soul”, who he assumes was behind the paint attack. “Her 10 second act of pointless hate has cost me at least three days cleaning, sanding and painting,” he says. “I've dealt with enough of these morons in my life that I am not affected by it. But I am really annoyed that she used a boring off-white. I would have much preferred fluorescent green.” Footage of the woman throwing the paint is being passed on to police so they can investigate.
