The team behind the lauded New Zealand play Black Faggot are raising funds to help cover the costs of their upcoming trip to Edinburgh Fringe. They are holding a fundraising Auckland run of shows, and are also seeking crowd-funding through Boosted. Early on, they've raised more than $400 of their $2,500 target. You can make a donation here While Creative New Zealand has covered travel costs, expenses such as venue hire, marketing and publicity, artist fees, accommodation and meals still need to be paid for. “Your support is critical to our success. Every donation, large or small, makes a huge difference,” the crew says. After rave reviews in New Zealand and Australia, the hilarious play about being gay and Samoan will be at the prestigious Assembly Roxy theatre in Edinburgh. The Fringe is the largest performing arts festival in the world, with more than 3,000 shows and an audience of four million. “It's an extraordinary opportunity to develop new audiences and meet international producers, promoters and presenters,” the producers of Black Faggot say.
