Anahera Rangitaawa is recovering in hospital Police have found Angel Rangitaawa’s injuries are not suspicious, but were caused by a fall from a tree. The 33-year-old was found with severe injuries on a Palmerston North street in the early hours of Saturday morning. She has bleeding and swelling of the brain, multiple skull and face fractures, broken eye sockets and a broken shoulder blade. Family members believed she was attacked, provoking intense public concern. Police maintained the injuries were “unexplained”. The scene examination and evidence also confirms this as well as the injuries sustained with the fall." Detective Oram says the victim's family has been informed of the investigation outcome.” The victim remains in a serious but stable condition in the Wellington Hospital.” He has thanked members of the public who called emergency services upon finding Rangitaawa and giving first aid.
