Murder-accused David Strickland Police have made an arrest over the 2012 shooting of a lesbian couple in a park, which claimed one of the young women’s lives and left the other severely injured. Mollie Judith Olgin, 19, died from a gunshot wound in the neck, after being shot at close range in a park in June 2012. Her girlfriend, Mary Christine Chapa, then 18, survived but suffered a brain injury. KSAT.com reports David Malcom Strickland, 27, has been taken into custody near Helotes, Texas, by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. He’s facing charges of capital murder, aggravated assault with a weapon and aggravated sexual assault in connection with the crime. His wife has also been arrested over allegations she tampered with evidence. “I am thrilled that the collaborative efforts of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, Texas Rangers, and Portland Police Department resulted in Strickland’s arrest. He’s a stone cold killer who thought he got away with murder, but will finally pay for his crime," Robert R. Almonte, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Texas, told KSAT. "My sympathies and condolences go to the victims and their families who had to endure this wicked act of violence.”
