Kiwi entries welcome for Aus writing comp

Thu 19 Jun 2014 In: New Zealand Daily News

New Zealand writers are being welcomed to get their creative juices flowing for an Australian writing contest. Organisers of the OutStanding Short Story Competition say it’s Australia’s premier creative writing event for the lgbtiq community. The first prize is $1,000, for a competition which has few rules other than a set length of 750 words which must be relevant to the Australian lgbtiq community, and the theme – which this year is ‘On The Edge’. The contest was curated by a small committee under the umbrella of Gay-ebooks, it then became Mardi Gras Short Story Competition for several years. In June 2013, with the blessing of Mardi Gras, it re-launched at Pride with a new name, OutStanding LGBTIQ Short Story Competition. Winning and highly commended stories are published on www.gay-ebooks.com.au Find out more here
