Govt urged to improve T/I healthcare

Green MP Jan Logie with the petition A report on how the government can improve healthcare for transgender and intersex New Zealanders will follow a petition which has been handed to Parliament. A petition with 435 signatures lobbies for support for improved health services for intersex and trans people. Aucklander Tom Hamilton organised the petition with Green Party MP Kevin Hague's sponsorship. "Over the past few months a group of volunteers have worked on submissions including the recent UPR review and suicide prevention action plan,” Hamilton says. "The aim of this petition is to ask for improved visibility and recognition of our communities need and inclusion in the system" The petition will be followed by a report on how the government can improve the health care provided for trans and intersex communities.
