Aucklanders are being urged to get behind an upcoming project showing gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people that it’s ok to be who you are, all of the time. From 12 June, Aucklanders are asked to wear a special wristband, change their profile picture or display a 100% OK/TINO PAI sticker on their car or shop window to show their support. The 100% OK project is hoping to get 30,000 supporters by 12 July. It’s a result of glbti community work with Auckland Council, involving community groups and Council staff who have set up a group called the Rainbow Door, with the goal of making Auckland the world’s most liveable city for the glbti community. “It's an evolution, not a revolution. We're only asking allies to take small steps,” says Trevor Easton from the 100% OK project and OUTLine. All donations received from sales of the wristbands will go to OUTLine. If you’d like to volunteer to help promote the wristbands and stickers please contact: trevor@outline.org.nz Follow the project on Facebook here
