Picture / Richard Arnold Kiwi competitors are already making a splash at the AsiaPacific Outgames in Darwin, raking in more than 20 medals in the first day of competition in the pool. Team Auckland swimmers Cynthia Borne and Jenny Rankine each already have two golds, as do Martin Kaulback and Richard Arnold from Different Strokes Wellington. Wellington’s Hamish Allardice has a gold and a bronze, Team Auckland’s Edward Jenner a gold medal, while teammate Elizabeth Anderson has two bronze medals. David Frost from Team Auckland also scored two third places, while Team Auckland swimmers Jeremy Clarke, Damian Strogen and Kate Pauling, along with Wellington’s Kevin Haunui, all finished the day with bronze medals around their necks. A Team Auckland women’s relay team swam to silver in a 200 Metre Freestyle race, while the men’s Team Auckland relay group scored a bronze - as did Different Strokes Wellington in another combined age range of the same distance.
