"Gays are going to hell" - Paihia pastor

Thu 1 May 2014 In: New Zealand Daily News

Bill Anderson / 3 News The pastor of a Paihia church says being gay is not normal and gay people are going to hell. He also claims that Big Ears of Noddy fame is gay, and that God speaks to him in ‘modern language’. “They’ve got more diseases that come out of it than the normal heterosexuals … we don’t know how to deal with these people,” Paihia Baptist Pastor Bill Anderson has told 3 News reporter Rebecca Wright, in an interview which screened during The Paul Henry Show last night. Anderson, whose church made the news when GayNZ.com revealed it had advertised an ‘ex-gay’ gathering, says God speaks to him in modern language, and told him to do the interview with Wright. An ‘incredulous’ Trevor Easton from OUTLine also features in the story, saying “you are what you are” and you can’t convert someone to be gay, or straight. Anderson does not have anyone signed up to his gay conversion scheme. Watch the full piece here
