The 2013 World AIDS Day appeal raised just $17,600, well down on the more than $30,000 it has raked in each year since 2008. After administrative costs, the 2013 total means $8,000 for the Wellness Fund. Operated by the collective of Body Positive, Positive Women and INA, it provides direct financial assistance to people living with HIV. The remaining $8,000 goes to the New Zealand AIDS Foundation, which is putting it towards the costs of services to support people affected by HIV. In 2012, the collection raked in $38,000, in 2011 it was $32,000, while it was $30,000 in 2010, $38,000 in 2009 and $38,000 in 2008. Those numbers were a boom from $26,000 in 2007 and $27,000 in 2006.
