Man attacked, robbed after Grindr meet

Tue 15 Apr 2014 In: International News

A Canadian man has been sexually assaulted, bashed and robbed by a man he met through Grindr, while at a conference in Philadelphia. The 34-year-old victim has told NBC10.com he invited the man to his hotel room after chatting through the gay hook-up app. He says the man held him up at gunpoint and sexually assaulted him, then made him buy four $500 Visa gift cards and withdraw cash from ATMs. "I was afraid to say anything. I was afraid of what was going to happen," the victim says. He ultimately managed to break free and call police. The victim is now vowing to steer clear of hook-up apps.
