OUTLine's Trevor Easton A glbti community support organisation says people should be true to who they are, as a Northland church advertises for people with “same-sex attraction issues” to come to talk by a man who claims he overcame being gay. There’s been an angry response on Paihia Baptist Church’s Facebook page to the ad for the Sunday event, which appears in a local newspaper. OUTLine General Manager Trevor Easton says “from our experience it is impossible for anyone to suppress their natural sexual desires,” whether they are attached to men, women or both. “That is who you are, you can try and hide it, bury it but if you are true to yourself your sexual attractions are part of who you are! “This is something to be proud of and the only way that you can be completely fulfilled in life.” Anyone who needs support through the coming out process is welcome to call OUTLine on 0800 OUTLINE (688 5463).
