Plunket "lucky" to have "wonderful family"

Thu 10 Apr 2014 In: New Zealand Daily News

The Plunket Parent Playgroup. Picture / Plunket. Plunket has made it clear it supports diversity in the wake of the royal playdate at Government house. It included gay dads Ryan Tunstall and Jared Mullen and their daughter Isabella in the families who met with Prince George and his parents yesterday, and the couple enjoyed conversation with the Duchess of Cambridge. While they shied away from interviews, Tunstall told the limited media allowed at the gathering “at the end of the day, it all comes back to, we’re all in the same situation, with kids around us, doing similar things.” Mullen added:  “The duke and duchess are lovely first-time parents in so many ways – they’re the same as all of us. The whole day’s been a privilege, just to share our babies with the duke and duchess and to have them share their beautiful one with us.” Plunket says the dads didn’t wish to do other interviews, as their main focus was to enjoy the visit, and ensure their daughter had the best day possible. “Plunket is very fortunate to have Jared, Ryan and Isabella as part of the Plunket family. They are frequent users of Plunket services, and want to give Isabella the best start in life,” the organisation has told GayNZ.com Daily News. “We are very lucky to have this wonderful family in Plunket.”
