Kelly Sinclair UPDATE: Police have confirmed the car found crashed down a bank off State Highway 2 is that of missing woman Kelly Sinclair. The 25-year-old was reported missing yesterday, after leaving home on Sunday night to go to Mount Maunganui. “Police received a report from a member of the public at approximately midday today that a crashed vehicle had been located, and that vehicle has since been confirmed as Kelly Sinclair's Audi,” police say in a statement. “A person is deceased inside the vehicle but police are not in a position to confirm who is in the vehicle until a formal identification has taken place.” A serious crash investigation is underway and police are keen to hear from anyone who saw Sinclair’s Blue 1997 Audi A3 between late Sunday night and today. Anyone with information is asked to contact Tauranga Police on 07 577 4300 EARLIER: Police have found a woman’s body in the wreck of a car which was discovered crashed down a bank in the Bay of Plenty this afternoon. They are at the scene in Whakamarama, where the car is believed to have left State Highway 2. Western Bay of Plenty police area commander Inspector Clifford Paxton has confirmed to the Bay of Plenty Times a woman's body had been found inside. "A vehicle has left the road while travelling ... between Tauranga and Katikati and gone off the left hand curb,” he says. "No other vehicle was involved."
