Christchurch wit Thane Pullan has won a spot in the national Raw Comedy Quest after taking out the South Island competition. The self-described “politically incorrect cripple” is a constant joker who has been doing comedy unofficially for five years. “I come across as batshit crazy or a total bitch when I make jokes in day to day life. This is not necessarily a turn off.” Pullan decided to enter the comedy quest simply because he likes performing. “But I ended up winning.” He is excited about the free trip to Auckland. “This will be a tremendous help in establishing myself so I am grateful,” he says. “I love going to Auckland, I seem to get laid more often there.”
