Dan Slater In demand DJ Dan Slater will make his New Zealand debut to headline the much-anticipated Foreplay dance party in Auckland in May. The event is the second to be brought to the city by Theta Project, whose inaugural party Propaganda sold out. Australia-based Dan Slater is in hot demand across the globe. His career took off when he won the Sydney Mardi Gras DJ Spin-Off Competition resulting in him spinning at the 2012 Mardi Gras Party. Since then he has gone on to woo crowds at My House Sydney and Homesexual where he opened for Peter Rauhofer and Tony Moran. He has just finished his first European tour, PAPA Circuit tour and was one of the 2014 Mardi Gras Party headliners. Following Foreplay he will be spinning at pride parties throughout the US in June, including the incredible NYC Gay Pride. His upbeat dance floor sounds bring a European energy and flavour which always impresses the crowd. Philthy Holster Slater will be joined by Sydney’s fastest rising star, Philthy Holster, who regularly spins at ARQ and has remixes and mashups played across the Sydney airwaves and at Sydney Mardi Gras. The pair will be supported by top New Zealand DJs like Donald Bennett and Mana Tai. There will be dual party zones; Nelson St’s Monte Cristo Room and Buena Vista Lounge, which the Theta Project team says will mean twice the fun. Saturday 24 May. Doors open 10pm.
